Day in Guadeloupe.

We are visiting Guadeloupe, for one day during our cruise in late December. Can anyone help with what we can do there. We like beaches, also places of interest.

Go Diving!!!! How much time do you have in Guadeloupe and where are you entering the country? You could rent a car, for example and cruise the island. Or you could get a group together and climb the vulcano on Basse Terre... Let me know!

Hi there John.

You will most likely be arriving in Pointe a Pitre so you could spend some time walking around the city, checking out the markets etc. Do not pay the asking price for anything but be prepared to haggle and shop around.

Best beaches are on the island of Grande Terre around Le Gosier or St Anne/St Francois and you can get local buses but it would be worth renting a car for the day. Roads are fine as the island of Guadeloupe is a French Department as they say so things are fairly well kept up with. Signs are all in French but easy to follow though bus timetable we found erratic though fare was cheap.

Hope this helps.

Enjoy your visit
