Any Riu experts out there?

We're thinking of a short, three night trip in April. Have stayed at Riu Palace in the past, and loved the beach. Thought the food was OK for an all-inclusive. So, since this will be a short trip, and we have all ready had an expensive vacation this winter, I thought maybe we could stay at one of the cheaper Riu's and enjoy the beach of the Palace. I think you can eat lunch at the Palace, just not dinner, if you stay at one of the others, is that right? You can also get drinks at the Palace bars? Anyone done this? Anybody tell me what you think of any of the other Rius? Any advice welcome!

Thanks!

Guests of the other four Rius (Bambu, Meleo, Taino and Naiboa have no priviliges at the Palace other than the use of the Casino) but they do have full priviliges at those four resorts - except dinner in the evening which they are expected to eat at their own resort.

Palace guests have the full run of all five resorts but are expected to eat their evening meal at the Palace.

Thanks, Gregg. Have you stayed at any of the Riu's? What did you think? How's the food?

Hi, we've stayed at RIU Bambu a couple of years ago and it was great!

How was the food? That's my only worry...I know the beach is great. I'm a picky eater, so I always worry!

Hi marnie,

I was at Naiboa in October but I hear a lot of chatter about all the Rius in the Caribbean and Mexico as I moderate the discussion boards at Rusty's "Unofficial" Riu Website.

Drop over and look around www.riubambu.com or look at our discussion boards at www.riubambu.com/cgi-bin/discus/discus.cgi…

Enjoy.
