Eden Roc Cap Cana is my favorite resort but also check out Tortuga Bay. Punta Cana isn't a destination I would go to if surfing was my prime desire.

Not much surfing in Punta Cana area. Only Macao beach and not much accommodations nearby. Might ask in Puerto Plata forum.

Caberete is geared up for surfing and independent travelers.

PC is mainly for AI's and the other options mentioned are very pricey.

You have Tortuga Bay, which is considered one of the best for non-all inclusive, from what I have read. If you want surfing, through, I recall the waves at Macao beach were on par. Also some good waves at Uvero Alto as well. Most of your northern beaches have those waves. But I think that is quite a distance from Tortuga Bay.

As others say, looks like if you have your heart set on surfing, Cabarete may be what you are looking for.

Hang 10! Or 5 or...something like that!
