Luxury Amber Resort Drinks

Can anyone tell me if you can get complimentary champagne with lunch and dinner at this resort. I often prefer it to the usual house red or white? Does anyone know if they have Beefeaters Gin? I love a good gin martini! Can't wait to get there on Sept. 30!

According to Destination Expert Brooklin's liquor list, Beefeater is available, but probably only at the lobby bar and not at the pool and beach.

I definitely had sparkling wine (mimosas) at breakfast and lunch at the main buffet and at the pool/beach buffet as well as in the evenings in the lobby. I can't see why you wouldn't be able to get some with your dinner as well.

I'm sure someone else will be along to confirm if it is available at some or all of the a la cartes.

Have fun! We loved it there!

Thanks JennyLeigh! Funny that's my cousins name! I will only plan on drinking martinis at the lobby so it sounds like it is going to be great. I tend to drink the lighter fruity drinks by the pool! Looking forward to this trip, been working so hard I need a little downtime at a nice resort.

Jennyleigh - those mimosas are so goood !!

Here is a listing of what is included in the all inclusive and what is at an extra cost for the Ambar & Esmeralda lobby bar - in the event others are reading this reply I just wanted to mention that the Bavaro and Punta Cana resorts all inclusive drinks do differ.

Please note that these are only available for Ambar and Esmeralda guests when they are at the lobby bars of their respective resorts and not when they are at the lobby bar of the Bavaro/Punta Cana or Premier resorts - yes you may obtain drinks at all of the other resorts, but a certain brand may be part of the all inclusive at the Ambar or Esmeralda for example, but may not be for guests at the Bavaro or Punta Cana resort - if you are drinking at the Bavaro or Punta Cana resorts lobby bar, and you order one of these, even as a guest of the Ambar or Esmeralda resorts, it will be at an extra cost..

The only location throughout the entire resort, where drinks are not included is at the Casino, located in the large shopping & entertainment area, called the Pueblo Principe - the reason being is that the casino is not owned by the resort itself.

Included in the All Inclusive:

Anejo, Extra Viejo

Bacardi Gold

Brandy & Anisete

Bombay Saphire

Skyy Citruf

Tequila Internacional

Tequila El Jimador

Licores Nacionales - National Liqueur

They do have Beefeater's gin, sometimes you might have to ask for it, and yes they do offer mimoma's too, remember that tipping your bartender a couple of dollars now and then will go a long way in getting what you want, and for the most part, better and quicker service. The Lobby Bar, always has the best selection of Brand name liquors, but the restaurants also try to have what you ask for. Enjoy your vacation at the Ambar, you'll love it there.

Definitely agree with tipping your bartenders and getting to know them goes a long way Been 2x and never had a problem getting a special drink once they got to know you.

Wow thanks for the detailed list! I will remember to ask for house sparkling wine and not champagne. Except for my first time staying at an all inclusive I have always tipped. First time didn't know any better and came unprepared. Now I save my ones and fives for months beforehand to have plenty. I am really hoping someone can make a good gin martini there, at the Iberostar resorts I have been to it has been hit or miss. Never could find someone at the Bavaro who didn't put way to much vermouth in!

I often see people ordering a chocolate martini

(mostly after dinner) so they must be good. ;)

Cava (the white sparkling wine) is reduced alcohol.

Many people refer to it as champagne in their reviews.

It's very nice and I now prefer it to the white wine at Ambar.

If you want to try something different that is not too sweet

ask for a Caipirinha, which is pronounced kie-purr-REEN-yah.

It's the national cocktail of Brazil made with rum, a bit of sugar

cane, limes that are diced, and soda water. (I ask for mint

to be added, good for digestion. ;))

Lucky you, only 12 more days until your trip to our favorite hotel.

Your drink suggestion sounds great to me but my Mom doesn't like rum all that much. She is the Queen of Vigin Strawberry Daqaries! I always tell the bartender that she is only 81 and too young to drink liqueur! We are lightweights , when it comes to liqueur at least, so the reduced alcohol sparkling wine I am sure will be fine for us. I am going to write the name of that drink down for myself though. Do you know if I can get it in the restaurant ?

Your list is great!!! My husband and I are going to the Ambar , January 29th so I printed it off for future reference. We stayed at the Grand Paladium last year and they didn't make Sombreros (Brown Cow here) which I prefer to the sugary drinks.
