wave breaker at hard rock hotel and casino

My understanding was the wave breaker was going to be done by now and travelers have said they are still working on it. Does anyone know when it really is expected to be completed? Can't wait to hear the reports on it when it's done. Highly considering going there next year. Thanks!

Man made barriers only mess up Mother Nature, Hard Rock should never been allowed to start building.

Travellers should base their resort beach choices based on what mother nature provides and not expect a property to change that for their benefit. If they don't like killer waves there are numerous other hotels to choose from which have calmer/safer water.

We just got back from two weeks at the Riu Macao..we go every April and our favorite stroll has always been up to where the Hard Rock Hotel is now... We can't believe what they are doing....,... It's so sad to see this beautiful beach being destroyed. When we first started going to Punta Cana fifteen years ago there were only about five resorts...It was so much nicer back then...We also were shocked at the erosion up by the market.....we had to walk over sand bags in the water to get by.... I think maybe it's time to start looking for a new destination.

Still working on it. No doubt the eyesore will be photoshopped out when taking pictures of the beach...nothing like truth in advertising.

This is from a press release about a casino they are building in the States...

"Allen said Hard Rock’s mottoes are “love all, serve all” and “save the planet.”

“One hundred percent we are committed to the environment,” Allen said. “We will not do anything that would affect endangered species. That is something we deal with fairly frequently.”

Hmmmmm...sounds a bit contradictory...throwing a pile of rubble into the ocean is hardly environmentally friendly.

Should be really nice swimming in a harbour without boats...that is about what it looks like. Nothing charming about it.

Cheers
