Ocean Blue and Sand - Is it really that bad???

Have read some recent negative reviews of Ocean Blue that have me very worried. We are arriving on Monday and I'm afraid that we will be very disappointed. Can anyone who has been there recently give an accurate description of rooms (non-privilege) and food quality. Just want to know what we are really in for. thanks!

Why read the negative reviews, there are tons of excellent reviews. We were there last year and had a fantastic time. Go with a positive attitude and you will enjoy this place.

Have a good time.

I heard there were some Spring Breakers causing problems there. they should all or mostly all be gone by the time you arrive.

We were there in January and had a great time.

lpelyak - been there twice and really enjoyed both vacations. The rooms are large & spacious and were cleaned everyday. The resort is immaculate and beautiful. Good that you are going non-privilege. That area of the beach is pretty shabby and all the "perks" dont seem worth it. The regular side of the beach is gorgeous and large. The buffet is enclosed w/ac and the Theme nights are nice. There are two large pools and plenty of chairs. The Mexican, Italian, Dominican & American places have great food. You have nothing to worry about. Dont listen to the negitive nonesense. Go and enjoy. None of the reviews suggest that there was any problems with Spring Breakers (even thou you didnt ask).

I was at the Ocean Blue and Sand two weeks ago. It is a perfectly fine resort with lots of dining options, 2 great pools, great beach, bowling, casino, spa, gym, disco, theatre, etc. Don't let a few negative reviews worry you! Remember you can't please everyone! Some people go on vacation and let a room mixup, torn bed sheet or tough steak ruin a holiday for them. If you are fussy like that, then no all inclusive will ever meet your expectations. Anyone going to an all inclusive, needs to go with the flow and not sweat the small stuff. One thing that I think that the Ocean Blue needs to address at some point are the Non- Priviledge rooms. I found those rooms to be a little tired looking and in need of renovation. But then again, who stays in their room on vacation anyway ? My husband and I have stayed at other resorts on the lower and upper end in terms of price and quality and we found the Ocean Blue to be a decent all round resort with a nice comfortable atmosphere. Go to Mike's Coffee House...it's awesome. I loved the corn bread, mini croissant sandwiches and frozen cappucinos. I'm sure you'll enjoy it the same as us! As for the spring breakers...there was a group there at the same time as us from the University of Kentucky. In all fairness, they were not too bad. The worst they did was crowd the pool bar and show off a bit...big deal! The pool with the blue chairs is more quiet and laid back. The party pool is the one with yellow chairs. The Ocean Blue and Sand has something for everyone...Don't worry!

Thank you for all of the encouraging comments. I'm feeling much better about choosing Ocean Blue. I think it will fit our group of parents and teenagers just fine. I know we will have fun because we are traveling with a great group of friends and will be enjoying warm sunshine and a beautiful beach for 6 days!! I will take everyone's advice and try to overlook the little things and just ENJOY!!
