Best all inclusive resort of young adults??

I'm planning a trip for my champagne 30th birthday (turning 30 on May 30th) so it's a big deal for me and I'd like to make the best decision here but I'm stuck!... I'm a single Canadian and will be going with a large group of friends.....I'm looking for a great resort for young adults around my age group (not into the resorts where it's mainly family, old people or couples only lol), nightlife/party scene (but nothing too crazy with a bunch of 21 year olds lol) so a little more grown and sexy crowd, white sandy beaches, activites, lots to do, not far from town etc etc....I was aiming towards Jamaica or Punta Cana but I'm opened to others. Thanks ;)

Thank you Harv,

If you have more questions let me know. Stayed at many resorts in Punta Cana and probably partied at all of them lol. Bahia is our favorite been 3 times and 4th in Sept.

ONE IMPORTANT ADVICE

Wherever you stay after every few drinks drink a glass of water to stay hydrated.

The combination of sun, drinks all day and fun can take a toll on you and you will be passed out before the clubs even open or you will wake up with a nice domini wound to remember your trip forever lol.

Or what I do instead of always water I switch drinks to vodka and orange juice. The juice will keep you hydrated :)

Safe travels!

Bigjim is the best I swear!! lol....

k sorry couple more questions...I need to decide on like 2--3 other resorts as a back up and I guess which ever has a better deal @ time of booking then maybe I'll choose that one...so seeing as ur an expert and u know what I'm looking for...what do u suggest as my back ups?

I also noticed u mentioned in another forum that if someone is about a lot of partying then bavaro princess is the spot......I also noticed a great deal on the Punta cana princess-adults only...wanted to know your thoughts on that as well...

Thanks again mr mtl ;)

Hi Jen,

I sent you a private message (2 actually lol) but will write here as well for you.

Punta Cana Princess is adult only and a more low key quiet resort. They share Areito club with Caribe Club Princess. Free drinks from 11pm to midnight then you pay. The club is somewhat small and the couple times I been to Areito there was not many people.

On the plus side PCP offers a shuttle to the Tower Princess which is the casino and club for Bavaro Princess.

Yes Bavaro Princess is my second favorite place and we had an excellent time there. The animators know how to party there that is for sure, all day by the pool they get everyone going with games at night they are at the club partying and then go off to a local place or popular club after words.

The only downside for me was the lack of stuff to do at night. It was pretty much lobby bar, see the show back to lobby bar to wait for club to open. It is not that it was boring there were still many people partying and having a good time it is just that by mid week it becomes repetitive.

Once midnight hit and everyone started heading to the Tower Princess for the club the party got back into full swing. The club however does not get packed right at midnight, by 1230 it will start to fill up and 1am you wonder were all the people came from.

It is free drinks for guests of Bavaro Princess (Maybe PCP and the other princess to) I can't confirm cause we know the workers at get free drinks no matter what resort we stay at. The club allows locals and many other resorts offer shuttles.

The club is not big as bahia nor is it small like others but it is nothing fancy or glamorous like the popular pay clubs.

Once the club closes around 2:30 - 3am most you will see people walking up the street, some guest and some animators. A 4 min walk brings you to Plaza Bavaro where there is an outdoor local bar with DJ. (My Profile Pic) and we have had great parties there till the sunrise. Alcohol is also cheap prices and not the high prices at popular clubs. It is only like 5% tourists that are there and rest are locals from every walk of life from workers to drug dealers so I advise you to be careful and go with the animators.

Also down the street a bit from the Tower is another bar/club (nothing big) that opened. I dont know much about it as never had time to go but when coming back from Plaza Bavaro or Mangu we could still hear the music going. Might just be a local place.

That being said no matter what resort we stay at we go to the Tower Princess at least twice to get the night going and then head off somewhere else.

Other great local places to party is the Car Wash (Yes I said it a Car Wash lol) The shop and drink which is near Mangu and a good place to predrink and there's a club called cool. These are more local places and some only start getting busy at 3am. Again they are local places but still be cautious and be safe. It is the same threats in any city.

Back to resorts after Bavaro Princess you can look into Occidental but the two downsides is bars on the resort close at 1am and the popular club Mangu you get free entry but pay for drinks like everyone else that goes there.

Another post mentioned he had a great time at Melia so you might want to look into that one as well.

Cheaper resorts that usually have deals year round are Gran Paradise Bavaro which is very popular for Spring Break and year round there is cheap packages to go there which attracts the younger crowd.

IFA - decent is one of the closet resorts to the airport, it has a decent night club and awhile back did renovations the resort. It is a smaller resort so it is hit or miss if people will be there or night for nightlife. Plus side is resort is close to Oro, Mangu, Jewel and Imagines night club compared to Bahia but still a taxi ride away.

These are just my opinions on our places our group likes so also do your own checks and read reviews from people who have stayed there.

There is close 100 resorts in Punta Cana so I am sure there are others that are great to so do look into them.

What you can do for better chances of resort nightlife is when your looking into a resort check the size. Bigger resort more chance, small resort less chance.

Check the price, Higher luxury resorts yes there will still be people your age partying but most likely the majority of younger travelers paying their own way will still at a mid class to low class resort as it is cheaper and all they care about is free drinks.

I would put Bavaro Princess mid and Bahia somewhat higher. BP is very nice don't get me wrong but some things are more luxurious at the Bahia.

After the above checks, then look more into the resort. Go to resorts website and check the restaurants and what time bars open and close at. Then check if the nightclub drinks are included.

This will help you to keep narrowing down resorts. Some people might not care about 6$ per drink and rank Occidental higher then what I rank the BP and vice versa. For us we look at it as if Occidental is 900$ and BP is 1200$ we will spend more then 300$ at the club drinking so we will go to BP to drink for free and then go off resort to the popular clubs. By end of week we save money that way even though the resort was more expensive.

In the end no matter what resort you go to you will end up having a great time and you won't want to leave.

It is your group that makes the party not a resort.

Any leeway on the dates you want to go?

On exitnow.ca if you left May 21st the Bahia is 1054.95$ tax included direct flight with westjet.

It is 181$ cheaper then the date you want to go on the 24th and is currently cheaper then some of the lower end resorts I mentioned above.

Yes I know it will miss your bday on the 30th (Seen your Jamica post lol) but in Punta Cana every day can be your birthday then when you get home you can go out for you bday and show off your tan.

Hi Big Jim,

Heading to Punta Cana at the end of May for a bachelor party with about 15 guys. Where would be the best party for guys aged 25-30.

Do you still suggest Grand Bahia? What about the Hard Rock?

Thanks for you help in advance.

Ron,

With 15 guys going for a Bachelor party any resort will be great. It's your group that makes the party not a resort :)

But if budget is no issue you can't go wrong with the Hard Rock and you would have Oro nightclub right there along with the many other bars, pool bars, and everything else Hard Rock offers to be a rockstar lol

This thread is from Feb so things obviously change. The Hard Rock now offers all you can drink packages at Oro nightclub so it is much cheaper then paying for each drink. I also believe guests staying at Hard Rock get free entry to Oro now (Hard Rock posts on the forums and they posted that a couple months ago, I'm not sure if it was a low season promo or will continue) Again things change at resorts all the time.

Hard Rock is also offering a 1800$ limitless resort credit that you can use on golf, excursions and so forth. Another thread a poster mentioned they got a 300$ bottle of champagne at Oro club with it. Some fun things you can use the credits for to make the Bachelor party even better then it will already be. Sorry I don't know exactly what the credits are good for or additional fees, etc but many people are using them.

Although Hard Rock is further away from other off resort clubs that still would not pose a problem as 2 out of the 3 other popular tourist clubs offers transportation in there package.

A company called Gobecon offers Jewel Night Club - Open Bar plus transport

gobecon.com/collections/excursions/products/…

For Imagines (the club in a real cave) on there website www.imaginepuntacana.com they offer packages with open bar and transport. Also very cheap VIP sections.

For Mangu at Occidental I have not heard anything about them offering transport or drink packages yet. (Maybe they do maybe they don't) but with everything offered at Hard Rock and those other two mega clubs you would not need to go to Mangu.

Gran Bahia is still a great alternative if Hard Rock is out of the price range. Of course from my original post to now a few things have changed as well. Like the late night snack bar is open only to 6am now but for the most things remain the same. Depending on the section you choose to stay in you get different amenities but the evening in the Pueblo Principe is the same with shopping, casino, terrace/sports/piano/karaoke bar and disco.

It really comes down to what you want out of a resort, amenities offered, luxury/tropical/vegas style, big/small resort, location if you plan on going off resort to a local bar / restaurant in the day/night or to shop, etc, etc. Usually chances are better at a bigger resort then a smaller one for the nightlife aspect. A few other bigger resorts are Iberostar, Barcelo, Palladium, and others have mentioned they have had good times at Melia.

Best to review websites, look at pictures, see whats offered, to determine what places appeal to your group. Always few free to ask questions on the forums. There is many members on here that have stayed at multiple places numerous times so they can tell you how a resort is.

Hope this helps!
