What's with the taxes?

There was a recent post for the Occidental and the reviewer states that there was a $20 arrival tax and a $25 (I think)departure tax. What's this? As far as I know it's still just the $10 tourist card. What gives?

The Tourist Card is still $10US per person and the Departure Tax is still $20US per person. Since for Americans the Departure Tax is often hidden in the taxes section of the airline ticket many think that they pay no Departure Tax - but it's there - just hidden like many "good" taxes.

Well in the last 3 yeras i have beenthere it has never been 10$, I always paid a 20US departure fee to leave the DR, and a 15$ Departure fee when i leave my local airport, so as of June 28, 2005 it was still 20$US

Oh I guess I didn't think about it being included in all our other fees! Whew! I got a little scared there. How do we find out if we'll have to pay it separately? Travel agent?
