Riu resort reciprocity

We stayed at the Riu Palace Las Americas during our last visit to Cancu. As RPLA guests, we were allowed access to the other Riu properties in the area. However, guests at the other Riu resorts were not allowed at the Palace.

We're considering Punta Cana for our next vacation, and based on our past experience, are leaning toward staying at a Riu-owned property.

My question is this - do the same rules apply to the Riu compound in P/C, or can guests staying at the Palace, Bambu, Taino, Melao, and Naiboa wander freely between resorts?

Thanks for any feedback, as well as any recommendations for specific Riu resorts.

It's the same deal in Punta Cana as you describe in Cancun.

The only access that non-palace guests at other Rius have to the palace is for arranged tours and to the casino. Palace guests, on the other hand, have free access to all Riu facilities; although you are expected to eat your evening meal at your own resort or at an arranged specialty restaurant.

Hey Candygram!!

There is a new Riu Palace opening in May 2006, you may want to consider that one. It is called The Riu Palace Punta Cana.

Is the new Palace beside the others?

Hi Snowyowl

It is on the same strip approx. about 5 resorts down. A very short walk.
