Gregg- Majestic Colonial - Dominican Street

Hi Gregg,

While you visited the resort did you get a sense of what was happening with Doninican Street. I arrive Dec 31. Will that be ready with the rest of the resort. Is this where all the shops will be. Any idea how many and what kind. It would be nice to have a place to pick up grocery items. Kids love to have the munchies for the evening!

Thanks for all your help with this resort. It really has been a huge help!!!!!

First here is a cut and past of an answer to a similar question which I received as a PM on another board. It has some relevant info.

"In the reception lobby on the second floor of the lobby bldg. there is a hotel gift shop, a cigar shop and a jewellery shop (Harrison's). Then on the south side of the lobby bldg. heading away from the beach there are a row of shops, the casino and the disco. Across from this is the convention center. As you proceed away from the beach there is another bldg. with shops and across from it are the two kids clubs. You keep going and there is a foot bridge and a natural area for walks. It was a bit rough on Nov. 23rd but I am sure it will be very nice when completed."

There was no indication of what shops were to be on Dominican Street but some that are in most resorts having a similar set up include a Logo Shop with various items branded with the resort logo, a pharmacy, a swimsuit store, a photo shop, souvenir store, a framed painting shop, etc. In my experience munchies can usually be found in the hotel gift shop.

Some info; some speculation. Gotta leave something to the imagination - right?

Tracyann,

We have kids to that love to snack as well!. If your kids like chips you should bring some last time we went we found no chips anywhere and any snacks we bought at the resort were super expensive!! We are going in 18 days as well, hard to believe it is almost here.

Many people pack Pringles as the relatively hard package preserves the product and minimizes the chance of eating your munchies with a spoon - LOL.

I would recommend bringing munchies. We just got back from Paradisus and it was $6 for a large bag of Doritos OR Chips!!!
