Advice on when to book a New Years vacation

I am hoping that you will have some advice for me.. my 2 girlfriends and I are planning a trip to PC hoping to leave December 26th for 2 weeks.... we travelled there last year also and booked mid July at a great price with ACV. Unfortunately ACV has yet to release their prices.. and we haven't seen anything that has really caught our eye just yet. I am wondering if anyone knows if waiting a few more weeks is a big deal.. or if we'll have less choices the later we book?

Advice from Travel Agents would be great!

I am also planning on going for new years.. This will be my first time going to the Dominican.. Who is it that you usually book through? What is it like there for new years? Where did you stay last year ? Sorry to bombard you with questions, hope you dont mind..

not a problem at all!

We stayed at the Caribe Club princess last year... we LOVED IT! and fingers crossed will be heading back there. However, the tour operator that offers that hotel has not released their prices just yet... Being there for New Years was great.. they had a wonderful dinner with champagne flowing... live band/show that night with fireworks and party favours (hats and blow horns etc).. it was really a nice time to be away. The hotels are all decorated for Christmas and there are tonnes of activities going on.. I recommend it!!!

We booked through a friends travel agent.. and we really got a great deal for a 2 week stay. I have been searching through websites and so far.. there isn't much in our price range.. and like I mentioned, not all prices have been released through Air Canada (which is my favortie carrier - more room on the plane as I am 5'10 and need the leg room).

if you want any more info.. let me know :)

I should ask though... what type of things are you looking for in a resort... are you bringing kids... do you want to have some nightlife? Casino? It will help you with your decisions.

Feel free to ask away :)

Loretta :)
