Beach Vendors?

Are there vendors walking the beaches and if so, how pushy are they?

I guess it depends on what you call pushy.

Most resorts do not tolerate vendors bothering their guests on the beach so usually they have a fixed location off the resort beach and you do the walking. They may call to you to entice you to look at their wares "Looky-looky, Cheapy-cheapy - Special price just for you!!!" but they are not going to physically accost you.

We stayed at the Iberostar Dominicana in Janaury and no one ever bothered us on the beach. We did walk down to the huts of venders and yes they do call you in "Come here pretty lady", and "special deal just for you". But it was fun and you can deal alot with them.

Above post were right...no one comes up while your on the beach...just be careful at the venders that you DO bargin...they will generally ask 300% of the cost. Always come back with a price 1/3 of what they ask. If they say its too low walk away and they will cave :)
