Does anybody know how far of a walk is the nightclub that is on grounds for the Riu's from the Bambu?

It's not too far. The nice thing about the RIU complex is that they have a walkway in front of the beach that you can use. From the beach, you would turn right on the path and go past the RIU Macao to the Caribbean Street (which is next to the RIU Taino). That's where the Pacha Disco is located.

Or, if you don't want to walk, here's a tip: There's a shuttle that comes every so often to take you to the casino at the RIU Palace Macao and you can take that and just walk across to the disco.

This disco is quite popular because it's open to the locals (and not just RIU guests). It's nothing like a disco in the U.S. It's very small and doesn't get hopping till after midnight (when most of the workers get off of work). If you go before midnight, it's dead.

I would go to Areita on a Wednesday night, it was super good when we went and heard that was the day to go. Also Mangu had good night life too.

There's only one disco at the RIUs and that's the one I mentioned on Caribbean Street across from the RIU Palace Macao.

The Disco PASHA is located closer to the Naiboa and at the start of Carribean street on the Riu complex.

I would suggest walking thought the Riu Palace Macao Lobby and throught the path that leads to the Caribbean street. It would take 5 mins walk.

The path from the lobby to the caribean street is the shortest way to get to the Disco.

I stayed at the Naiboa last year and that's how we got quickly to the Bambu. (The Disco is at the edge of the Naiboa property leading to Caribbean street and the path to ge to the casino at the palace)

Is the cover charge included if you stay at one of the Rius? Can someone give some drink prices? Since they are not included, what can we expect to pay? Beer and mixed drinks? Thanks

bluegrassguy, there's no cover charge to the Pacha disco at the RIU. I'm not sure about the drink prices, but a Diet Coke was around $2.00.

We paid $4. for a Presidente. Basically 3 times more what you should be paying if you were in another part of the Dominican. But it was nice to have a different beer for a change. Be warned that the disco is stuffy & smoky, so bad that we just hung out on the patio.
