Best location?

Where is the preferred area to stay in Punta Cana? Its so hard just researching and comparing all the resorts. I don't want to be too isolated... i.e. if we want to do any of-property activities, or see a town. Also, are the beaches all pretty similar? I had been looking at Sanctuary Cap, near Juanillo, but I see most of the resorts are clustered ina totally different area, near Bavaro. Please help!

I always say that the most important thing is to choose the resort first according to your preferences. If beach is number one one your list then limit youself to that area. Then pick the resort based one what you are looking for (adult only, food, luxury, modern, tropical)

Hi

As has been said the beaches and ocean conditions can vary property by property and location by location

Bavaro Beach has nice white sand and normally calm waters but as you mention there are a lot of properties there so there can be a lot of foot traffic on the beach and a lot of boat traffic and for this reason we are in no hurry to go back

We much prefer the likes of Uvero Alto which has less properties. The sand is however more tan / sand coloured rather than pure whire and the ocean can be a little rough here and there so you need to do research into this if swimming in the ocean is important to you

Our favourite area is Cap Cana and e have stayed at Sanctuary many times and love it there. Yes the beach cove at the property itself is rather small but you have excellent beaches on either side of the property. For trips out you have the Marina and Scapepark which are just a short cab ride away
