Our ship doesn't arrive in port until 2:00 on a Tuesday. What beach would be the nicest that wouldn't take too long to get to. I read that one of the nicer beaches closes at 6:00 and is pretty far away by taxi.

If you just want to go to the beach I would also say Blue Bay. It's also good for snorkeling and it's close to the harbor.

Yes, I'd say Blue Bay or Mambo Beach...both not far from the harbour. Good luck!

You'll enjoy Blue Bay Resort beach. There is no closing time, but generally the beach clears out after sundown and activities move to the happy hour at the main bar. Know that it is a semi-private, quiet (not a party) beach with ample shady spots under palapas or the palms. Visitors are charged $8 pp admission, which includes lounge chairs, clean restrooms, outdoor showers, and playground for the kids. There are two bars, a snack bar, full service restaurant, and dive shop where you can rent snorkeling gear or a kayak. You can also make arrangements with the AzZuro restaurant to have dinner on the beach. During the day, servers patrol the beach and can provide food and drinks right at your lounger...just wave one down. Enjoy!
