Curacao has the big advantage that it has very good shore snorkeling. Most fish in the Caribbean are coral reef fish. The secluded beaches of Curacao have the reefs right there where you access the ocean, that is why snorkeling is so good.

Islands with long sand beaches like for instance Aruba or the Grand Turk only have a few spots where you can snorkel, simply because there are hardly any reefs, or you have to go by boat to a reef.
