So I'm headed to Curacao for the first week of April and have been combing the Trip Advisor boards to try and figure out where we should stay. There's so much great information but there are so many different opinions that I'm getting completely overwhelmed. So, this is a plea for anyone who has a recommendation of where to stay.
What our criteria would be:
1 bedroom with a full kitchen (so excited to get fresh fish from the fishermen)
Decent outdoor space (if in a resort with pool area can work as long as there is some balcony for breakfast, dinner)
Ocean view - ideally with ocean access
A/C at least in the bedrooms
Walking distance to restaurants (we will be renting a car but prefer to walk to dinner/drinks in the evenings), we prefer more Caribbean style beach type feel rather than high-end
From what I've been reading I think my best bets for areas are Blue Bay, Piscadera Bay or the Aquarium? I've been getting mixed feelings on Jan Thiel but that is also another consideration.
As a comparison we were in Belize last November and loved San Pedro (were just on the outskirts at Coral Bay Villas which was perfect) and also love Placencia down at the point.
