"may I see the room"

I'm visiting Curacao in January 2013 and am thinking about finding some of my lodging after I've been in the country for a few days.

How crass would lodging staff feel that I am if I politely ask to see the room that they have available before I book a few night there?

They would be fine with it.

We were fully prepared to view rooms at Sunscape if we were not assigned the best room on the property :)

I doubt that they would be as willing to do it if the guest already had a reservation. There's no incentive if they already have your payment.

Well, we did walk into the Hyatt and ask to see a room. Just because I was nosy. We told them upfront we weren't staying there, but were interested for our next vacation. They were very accommodating.

I think most places are willing to do so. It really depends if they have someone available to show you around
