Aeromexico travel insurance OK for U.S. citizen at border?

I plan on traveling as an Italian (dual passports), but if I get called out as an American at the border, would the Aeromexico flight add-on travel insurance be adequate for meeting the Cuban govt's requirement for U.S. citizens? Any experiences?

Cuba doesn't have borders - it is an island.

You need to ask Aero Mexico (or their insurance underwriter) whether they cover you in Cuba. If they are US company they won't.

By the way - the Cuban requirements apply to everyone (even though they might not be enforced).

The issue for US travelers is that their home policy often exclude Cuba.

Ok, thanks.

Yes, I know Cuba is an island. But I meant "border" as immigration -- as you might know, the UK -- also an island -- refers to their immigration as the UK "border."

Thanks again

That is what the Asistur policy covers - http://www.asistur.cu/SEGOB_ENG.pdf

If the Aeromexico policy covers something like that, it should be fine.
