Cuba six weeks

Hello. We are planning a trip to Cuba in July and August (6 weeks). We are a couple with 8-year old daughter. We would like some itinerary tips from travelers who did the 6 weeks trip.

Thanks!!

I am not sure there are many who have done a trip that long.

How do plan travelling ? What are your interests ?

I think you will have to have your tourists cards renewed after 30 days too ?

Like Beardo asked, it will easier to help you if you tell use how you plan to travel (bus, taxi, rent a car, etc?) what type of budget you have, what you want to do and experience. Also, do you speak Spanish?

But the first advice would be to buy a good guide book like LonelyPlanet.

We were thinking of just local transport at first but there is an option renting a car for 3 weeks. Interests are towns & history, beaches & diving, nature...

Hi. Budget is around 3500€, we already have the plane tickets. We planned just local transport & some taxis, but we are thinking of renting a car for 3 weeks. Our Spanish is quite basic and we are geared up with guide books.

Last year we did an 8week trip touring Cuba mostly staying in Casas, we planned a hotel stay 3/4 way through and it was all simply fantastic.

We used both public transport and hired a driver/car when req'd it all worked very well and we cant wait to do the same again next year. I would say the public transport system works well, either Viazul or conectando are as good as one another, I would just say that August is the hottest month of the year in Cuba and very humid so don't be too over zealous in your daily itinerary.

You renew you visa a few days before expiration, in the town where you are staying at that moment. It's at the inmigracion office, the owner of the casa where you are staying will know where it is.

You will need 25CUC/per person in stamps (get it at the bank), proof of health insurance and proof of where you are staying, plus passport and old tourist card.
