its the same exchange rate used for the American dollar. Same thing as if you are buying US.

Sofee- important- dont bring US Dollars to be exchanges into CUC- you will be charged an additional 10% ontop.. Bring Canadian dollars(cause you are from Canada) and you can exchange at your Hotel or the Airport or a bank in Cuba.

Hint- the banks and the Airport offer a little bit better exchange . The hotels tend to add a few points to the transaction

Unrelated question...

I've been reading the posts on this forum, very interesting... some of you I recognize the nickname as being regular visitors to Cuba....

I am going to Holguin this time, 2 weeks. Staying in Casa particuliere.....

Wondering approximately how much I can plan on spending for meals for a day..... nothing fancy.... I can buy meals at my casa as well... but want to eat out mostly.....

Also, planning on renting a scooter for at the very least one of the 2 weeks I'll be there... any ideas on pricing for that?
