Fly from UK via US ?

The only time we've been we flew from Manchester UK to Amsterdam (to Curacao) then business class to Bonaire because of the length of the flight. We don't want to do that route again as it simply wasn't value for money with KLM. Can anyone please suggest a different route from Manchester to Bonaire, say via the US?

Suelees: you will not find many direct flights from the US to Bonaire. Delta flies on Saturdays out of Atlanta; United (used to be Continental) flies overnight from Newark NJ and from Houston on the weekends, and Insel flies from Miami and Charlotte NC on Saturday. There are no direct midweek flights rigt now. Connections from the UK might be dicey at any of these airports. Right now, fares are not cheap on these routes either (800 USD+) so you might really want to look again at KLM flying directly to/from Bonaire. What about CUR or Aruba instead? Sorry I can't provide more useful info.

My friends reside in the UK and fly KLM all the time. I know some folks who have found cheaper air from Europe to Newark and one to Houston and then they flew to Bonaire..took hours /days

Thanks very much for your replies. It looks like it's KLM then. My only gripe is the high cost for a very uncomfortable sleepless night in business class. it was our first time in the 'posh' cabin and a special birthday treat but in future we might as well save money and fly economy. Perhaps the difficulties getting there are a good thing. It means it won't get over-run with too many tourists :)

Another option is on Thomson from Gatwick or Manchester to Aruba. We flew with them last year from Gatwick and then got a connecting fly on DAE to Bonaire. It is a charter flight but it wasn't too bad and you can get sometimes get fares as low as £300 return.
