Airport tax for Aruba: 20 dollars

Friday, 07 January 2011 12:59

KRALENDIJK — Starting next month, the airport tax on flights from Bonaire to Aruba will cost 20 instead of 35 dollars. Deputy Elvis Tjin Asjoe (UPB) of Economic Affairs announced the aforementioned. The accommodation tax for residents of the Antilles and Aruba had already been abolished in the past to stimulate the traffic between the islands, but also because of the ties between families. Tjin Asjoe and colleague-deputy Anthony Nicolaas were on Aruba last week where they spoke with Minister Otmar Oduber. This conversation resulted in the agreement to lower the airport tax. Tjin Asjoe will also do his utmost to maintain the airport tax of 9 to 10 dollars for Curaçao.
