Best hotel in Barbados with a Toddler please...

Hi all,

My husband and I are travelling to Barbados with our 18 month old son in March.

We were wondering if anyone could help us with suggestions of where to stay...

We are looking for 4/5 star accomodation, in a lively area of Barbados (walking distance to the 'St Lawrence Gap' area perhaps?) since we like to walk around and explore places outside the hotel and somewhere fun and lively will be great! (We are not fans of just staying in the resort and lying on the beach all day!)...somewhere with a good kids club would be great too...

Any suggestions would be much appreciated (Thank you so much for taking the time to read my post!)

You won't find any 5 star properties on the South Coast for sure, but have a look at this short list.

Hilton Barbados (Excellent kids club, 4*, two beaches, 10 mins drive from the Gap)

Accra Beach Hotel & Spa (No kids club, but babysitting available, excellent Rockley Beach, 3-4 mins drive from the Gap, recently completed major upgrade)

Ocean Two Resort & Residences (No kids club, located in the Gap, Trip Advisor Traveller's Choice 2013 Winner)

Those are my top three suggestion to you.

Hope this helps

Regards

According to the Hilton website, their Kidz Club starts with 4 year olds. You might want to e-mail the hotels you are interested in to determine what ages are accepted into their club for children.

I'm not sure Kids club is relevant for an 18 month year old. If you like contempory Ocean2 would be a good choice. Not walking distance to the Gap the Bougainvillea would be a good choice and is family orientated. It also has kitchen facilities which is a great help with young children.

Bougainvillea caters to kids also with some sort of kids club and they are very family friendly. They also have a good supply of sand toys available on the beach. Going to Barbados with a toddler you could probably go almost anywhere though.

Turtle Beach is a great hotel but it also has a minimum age of 3 years for the "kids" program. You'll find that to be quite common as an 18 month old child is not independent enough. You might want to enquire about "nanny" or "baby sitting" services at the hotels.

You're welcome.

Turtle Beach is a great option, and is all-inclusive. You can do that and enquire about baby sitting services.
