www.weather.bm will provide you with historical weather information. For my tastes the water is a bit brisk, but many people do swim at that time of year. Have a great time, May is usually a beautiful time to visit.

A bit like the Memorial Day weekend in the US, the un-official beginning of summer for Bermudians to go swimming in the ocean is Bermuda Day, May 24th. Most foreign tourist will begin swimming much earlier...and Canadians will dive-in anytime, anywhere there isn't either 'pack-ice' covering the surface...or hungry Polar Bears in the immediate vicinity.

Canadians make up a large portion of Bermuda's 'ex-pat' population (as they do many other places). If you find yourself on Bermuda over the 4th of July weekend, head out to the south shore, and look for the 'Maple Leaf' kites and flags flying at Warwick Long Bay and follow 'em to the annual Canada Day celebration...and the largest pile of Molsons' products that you're ever likely to see without the Stanley Cup present.

I don't know why anyone would leave Canada in July. July to October are absolutely fabulous up here. But for those of us who have just endured another major snowstorm (12-15 inches on Tuesday - no polar bears however), May and the thought of strolling Bermuda beaches cannot come soon enough.
