Knowledgable private guide sought

We are a group of 5 - including an historian and museum curator - looking for a suitable private guide for a half- or full-day tour including St. George. Any recommendations?

YES...seek out almost any BLUE FLAG certified taxi tour guide. These taxi tour guides have undergone a certification process by by the Dept. of Tourism...and are very knowledgeable. Most can customize your tour to take into account your own particular/peculiar interests (art & architecture, flora & fauna, general & military history, parks & gardens, etc). TheseBLUE FLAG taxi tour guides may be identified by a BLUE FLAG windo decal, medallion or 'fender flag'. Not all taxi drivers who offer tours have been BLUE FLAG certified.

There are fixed rates. Taxi tours will run $40.00/ hr. for 1-to-4 passengers....$50.50/hr. for 5-6 passengers. There is a three(3) hour minimum for these tours...but can certainly run longer as you like. Do the math for the number of passengers/hours of such a tour and it will represent one of the biggest relative '..bargains..' in Bermuda...as well as a helluva' interesting day.

As you've expressed a particular interest in the 'olde towne' of Saint George's....if you would find yourselves touring through Saint George's on a Wednesday or Saturday afternoon, I suggest that you consider making time to include the proper Afternoon Tea served at--

The '..SWEET P..' bakery & tearoom, in Stewart Hall at the BERMUDA PERFUMERY, out in Saint George's (Queen St. & Tailor's Alley)--

At present, Afternoon Tea service is on WEDNESDAYs & SATURDAYs only..approx. $24 per person (??)

An interesting suggest itinery for a Saturday in Saint George's from the piece is--

"..."The Afternoon High Tea experience would be a unique and charming addition to guests' day out in St Georges," they said. "To start their adventure with the Walking Tour of the Olde Towne, The Market (on Saturdays) and strolling through the narrow streets visiting the National Trust properties, Deliverance, The World Heritage Center and finish off with a nice lunch option of Afternoon High Tea with us, Sweet P, in the historic setting of Stewart Hall..."

SELF-DIRECTED WALKING TOUR of SAINT GEORGE'S--

There is also usually a historic reenactment each day to Noon on the Square in Saint George's, with the Towne Crier and a '..dunking..' of the '..towne wench..' into Saint George's Harbour....for her sins.
