Canadian visitors

I see in the Toronto Star this morning that The Reefs and Cambridge Beaches are offering some special deals to Canadians over the "winter" months. They range from 10% off or $ at par, whichever is better, to included meals.

Might be worth checking out.

Toronto Star...01/07/10

"...A busload of Down Under deals:.......

Pink sand savings: Two high-end Bermuda properties are offering special rates through the winter months. At The Reefs, Canadian residents get 10 per cent off their room rate – or dollars at par, whichever is the better deal at time of booking (Bermudian dollars are tied to U.S. dollars).

With the 10 per cent discount, The Reefs' room rates start at $332.10 (BMD) and include breakfast, afternoon tea and dinner. The offer runs through March 15. See http://www.TheReefs.com/Canada

Also in Bermuda, Cambridge Beaches Resort & Spa has a Dine on Us promotion that covers breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner, plus accommodation, for a lead-in rate of $385 per room, double occupancy, with a three-night minimum stay. Bookings must be made by Jan. 31 for travel completed by March 31. See http://www.cambridgebeaches.com (promo code CBDINE)...".

A piece ("..Hotel occupancy drops 11 percent in 2009..") in today's (01/08/10) ROYAL GAZETTE indicates that Bermuda is about to initiate a 50% OFF Wintel Hotel Sale for winter hotel bookings, beginning on January 17th..

In the past only a handful of properties (9-to-12) have participated in these sale offers...but the list of participants usually include the Fairmont hotels, Elbow Beach, The Reefs, Cambridge Beaches, Pompano Beach, Grotto Bay..among others). In any event...if you are considering a winter/off-season visit to Bermuda, it may be well worth your while to keep checking in with the Bermuda Department of Tourism web site-- http://www.bermudatourism.com/index.aspx --for forthcoming details of this 50% OFF room rate offer.
