Marriott Resort Versus Divi Aruba

Hi, I am planning a trip to Aruba in January. I am debating between these two hotels (although, I am up for other suggestions!). But based on these two, has anyone been to both, that can give me a good comparison or recommendation?

Any and all suggestions would really be appreciated!

Thanks!

Dear OP - please clarify which Marriott Resort property you are looking at: Ocean Club, Surf Club, Stellaris Hotel or the Ritz. Also clarify which Divi Property you are interested in: Divi, Divi Village, Divi Village and Golf, etc. It would make a difference in any analysis or any response.

Dear OP - please also note that the DIVI complex is not a hotel complex - it is a timeshare complex. The Ocean Club and Surf Club are also timeshare facilities.

The Divi has two hotel options (Divi Aruba All-Inclusive and the Tamarijn All-Inclusive) in addition to their timeshare options.

So when you say that you're considering two HOTEL options - are you referring to the Marriott Stellaris and the Divi Aruba All-Inclusive?

Thank you for the clarification. The two properties that you are trying to compare are as different as can be. The STELLARIS is a tradition Hotel environment - you get a room and that is about it. There are some nice facilities on the ground that can be used as well. It is also located on Palm Beach which tends to be fairly heavily populated at all times and is busy with many activities as well. It is also in the high rise area of many other facilities including shopping, restaurants, casinoes, etc.

At the DIVI, you would be in more of a villa type of environment more comparable to a timeshare unit. The All inclusive feature would cover your meals and some of your drinks and would also cover the use of some facilities and equipment. DIVI is also located in the low rise area near Eagle Beach. Eagle Beach is a bit quieter than Palm Beach and many people adore it for that reason and prefer it for that reason as well.

The choice you are looking at is the classic one between the High Rise/Palm Beach area and the Low Rise/Eagle Beach area and really depends on what you prefer and what you are willing to pay for whatever you get.

Personally, I tend to discourage All Inclusive options because there is so much good dining in Aruba that part of any stay should include a bit of sampling of that. There are non-all inclusive option on Eagle Beach including Amsterdam Manor which you might want to look at.

You will not go wrong at either place you are looking at but they are different experiences.

I have never had the pleasure of staying at the Divi, so I can not provide any infor. However, the Stellaris has large 500-square-foot hotel rooms, featuring a safe, coffee maker, mini-fridge, a large 100-square-foot private balcony, 24 hour room service, lobby café, cassino. restaurants on site and a short walk to shopping and other restaurants. Go on the webs site for both and compare the amenities that my fit your needs most.

We have stayed at both rooms are much nicer at Marriott but the Beach IMO is 10 times better at the Divi. I always choose the beach.
