You have a greater chance of seeing baracudda like I did on my snorkel trip than any kind of shark. Overall it's very safe.

I 2nd what Happy Family said I also saw a baracudda while snorkeling at Ren Island last week, he was intimidating looking and startled me at first, but I just kept swimming (in the other direction). :-)
