Hi! Are we best taking US $ or local Aruban Florins with us??

We only ever take US $ taken everywhere and sometimes in change you will get Aruban Florins.

Most merchants accept USD$, but bring smaller notes, 20's with you. 100's and 50's are sometimes not taken, however, you can change them at hotels and casinos very easily for smaller bills.

I have never experienced an issue with anyone not taking USD. They generally give change in US bills but coins in florins. Thre is a fixed exchange rate between the USD and the Florin, hence no issues with a good or bad exchange rate. There is no reason to exchange any $$.

you can use credit cards in most places, even supermarkets; for gambling you will need US cash unless you want to use ATM machines and pay a fee

most places take credit cards, even supermarkets; if you use cash your change maybe in florin coins; if you plan to gamble you will need US cash bills or use an ATM machine and pay a fee to get cash!

Check with your credit card company - Our B of A Visa charges international fees. Our Capital One Visa does not....
