Is there anywhere to snorkel off the beach for free in Aruba?

If you go about 10 minutes north of the high rise hotel area to Boca Catalina or Malmok, you can snorkel from the shore at various sandy coves.

Also, if you go to the very southern end of the island to Baby Beach, you can snorkel from shore there as well.

Here's a good website that shows the beach locations:

Yes, Arashi Beach and Boca Catalina are very good. We liked Boca Catalina best and saw turtles there. You can take the bus to Arashi and you can walk from there to Boca.

I have information, maps and photos of the area at http://www.arubabound.com/dive/snorkeling.htm

In order, north to south are:

Arashi beach

Catalina Cove

Boca Catalina

Malmok beach

At the end of June, the entry at Malmok was very very rocky.

Arashi is doable if you are a good swimmer, but you will have to get swim out a bit to get past the "boulders", around and onto the coral.
