Airport shuttle and beach umbrella chairs at Holiday Inn

Good day we'll be staying at Holiday Inn resort for total 5 days stay. Just booked our flights to Aruba in December. So excited.

Now how do we get from airport to the Holiday Inn? Should we arrange airport transfer with the hotel?

Do Holiday Inn rent out beach chairs and umbrella? We love to just lay on the beach and explore islands little bit. But don't want to compete to get up early to fight for chairs and umbrellas.

Thanks!

Hotels in Aruba don't have free shuttles. Take a taxi. Outside the arrivals terminal turn to the left. This is where the taxi line is. Someone will be there getting you the size taxi you need (ex. SUV if you have 5 people) and a slip of paper with the cost of the ride.Fare to the H.I. is $25. If arriving/departing on a Sunday there is a $3.00 surcharge. Rate is for the taxi, NOT per person. Maximum 5 persons per taxi.Travel time depending on the day of week to the hotel is approx. 25 mins.

Beach lounge chairs/palapas (shade huts) are free. The procedure is that you go to the towel hut. At 4 pm each day they start giving out the palapas for the next day. Usually people start lining up at 3 pm. The wait isn't too bad as you find out a lot of information from others in line about restaurants, where to go, boat tours, etc. If you are a IHG Platinum or Spire member you do not have to get in line daily. You will get a palapa for the during of your stay.

Holiday Inn began a new procedure in which you obtain a number at the activity hut starting around 3:45 but prior to 4. At 4 pm using a bingo device, numbers are called out and you proceed inside the hut in the order your number is called. You then pick your palapas from a diagram posted behind the desk. The IHG platinum and spire members still are able to reserve their's for their stay without doing the lottery/bingo system.

Oh I hold IHG platinum status with them, so that'd be nice. So for the beach chair, is that included once you picked the spot on the diagram then? When do they let us pick the spot on the diagram as a platinum member? Check in time? Any suggestions as to where in the diagram that's good spot as in we prefer adult section.

There are no adult sections. There are beach loungers under the palapas. If you need more, additional lounges are stacked up along the beach. When you go to the towel hut, you choose a palapa from what is still available on the diagram. If you don't like the area of where the palapa is located, go back the next day to see what is available. There may have openings in other areas from people that have checked-out. FYI you have to be at your palapa by 10 am each morning. If not, someone can take your reserved palapa.

If you booked third party the the IHG won't matter to get the palapa for the week you have to book direct.
