Sandals Mediterranean Village

Wanting to find out if anyone has an update on the new village. I know progress is slow. I am arriving and booked into the new section July 21st in the villa with pool category. Sandals is still saying the Opening date is July 1st. Trying not to panick, but a little worried and don't know what to expect if the section is not complete. They are showing no availability for the new village as well as the upper category rooms on the older side. Any news would be appreciated. Thanks!

Thanks, CrystalVancouver. It really concerned me when that review mentioned the singles taking over all the restaurants & being passed out (drunk apparently) on the beach.. Not the kind of atmosphere I want to be around after dropping thousands of dollars to be in a couples only, romantic resort!! Which I'm sure you'd understand my concern.. If I wanted to be in that type of environment we could've booked another resort and saved probably $4K!! Didn't they say there was a conference center built on site @ the resort?? Just don't want to be disappointed since this is the only big trip we'll be able to take for the next 2 years probably..

Princess - I was just there in November, 2007 and what I experienced was a very nice, relaxing couples' resort. You will have a wonderful time.

Didn't see anyone drunk or passed out, but they did have a beer-drinking contest one day! Talk about childish. I think that was organized by Sandals, not Edward Jones. The place is so big that you only run into that kind of thing if you seek it out, though. The layout of the Caribbean Village is lovely and tranquil.

Hey Everyone,

I'm going to Sandals Antigua and staying on the MV side from Dec 27th - Jan 2nd. I did not get a room with butler service and have read that getting reservations for dinner is very difficult. I read that you can only make reservations two days ahead of time and if you have the concierge service that doesn't help, you still have to do it yourself. If this is all true, where do you eat the first two nights you're there??? is there anyway to make dinner reservations for day 1 and day 2 of your trip? Also, do u need to make reservations for lunch??? Thanks for any input!

No reservations required for lunch. For dinner you can always eat at one of the places which doesn't require reservations. Also, the concierge service should help with reservations! We also went off property to eat just for a change.

No reservations required for Bayside, Cricketers Arms or Barefoot restaurants at dinner either. If you do want to try and make reservations during the day there is a desk set up opposite the photoshop in MV taking reservations from 8am-3pm or you can ring (1050, I think - check number with reception) during the same hours.
