Coconut Beach Club or Valley Church Beach for a day?

My husband and I will have one day in Antigua (off a cruise ship) next week. Should we do the all-inclusive day at the Coconut Beach Club or head to Valley Church Beach?

Either of those would be fine if you want to spend the day with a couple of hundred other people off a cruise ship. Alternatively just grab a cab or local bus and head for one of the many, many other, nicer places to be on the island.

If you just want to chill on a beach, try one of the lovely west coast chain - Jolly, Ffryes, Darkwood or Turners would all fit the bill - all have facilities and places to eat and drink. Or treat yourself to a fantastic bit of history, and spend a bit of time at Nelson's Dockyard, then lime on one of the beaches down at English Harbour.

For something a bit different, there's Half Moon Bay (limited shade, but amazing beach) and lunch at Smiling Harry's, just up the road, or for watersports, there's Dickenson.
