bats!

apparently there are some caves full of bats near english harbour. we are going on holiday to antigua shortly and would love to see them. we dont actually want to go into the caves, we just want to see them coming out to feed at dusk, can someone tell me exactly where the caves are and te best time to see them is? Thanks

You'll see bats all over the island after sunset. People often think they're birds.

The caves you're probably thinking of are at Piccadilly, but you can only visit the caves with a letter of authorisation from the National Park Authorities in Nelson’s Dockyard, which has to be done 24 hours in advance. I believe this applies to the whole site.

The EAG may have more information on how to see these, or other large colonies, however, so it might be worth contacting them http://www.eagantigua.org/index.html
