Covecastle

My husband and I are planning a trip to Anguilla in April and are thinking of staying at Covecastle. There are not many reviews of it on Tripadvisor, so I was wondering if anyone on the forum has stayed there or has any information on it.

Thanks for your insight.

The expert of Covecastles, Penny, should weigh in here. She stays at Covecastles and loves it.

I stayed there when they first opened, at the Beach Houses, before they had those lovely villas. We enjoyed it very much but the villas are much nicer.

Wait for Penny's assessment. She'll be able to tell you more.

We love Covecastles. Its so quiet, that is why

we love it! Its now our new favorite place. We

have stayed at CJ many many times, Malli once,

and Cuisinart once. Our next trip we will be at CJ

again----as we want to go back before it closes

for renovations if they ever close the deal.

We have breakfast served on our patio at CC,

sometimes lunch---the restaurant is not open for

these meals but they do deliver.

We stay in a 3 bedroom villa, with a well equipped kitchen. I never cook--but its nice to make coffee

in the morning.

The bedrooms are now air conditioned. The bathrooms are nothing special----but hey its a trade off. I cannot comment on the beach houses as I have never

been inside one, but they do have many repeat guests.

If you have any specific questions, I will be happy

to answer.

Yes, Mary the best part is TT is a walk away!

Where do we turn in for Cove Castles - I don’t recall seeing a sign.

And, once we get there is the restaurant easy to find from the parking lot?

Thanks,

Ellen

Hi Ellen,

Take the road to Trattoria Tramonto. The entrance

is about 1500 feet on the right hand side--before you

get to TT.

Once you turn into the entrance, stop at the desk

and they will open the gate. Now this is where we still

have trouble--even when we walk from our villa. Its

about 6 villas--they will tell you the correct count-up the road. When you drive up someone from the restaurant will meet you-

Parking is in front. The restaurant is set in the middle of the beach house villas.

We enjoy the restaurant. Sometimes Dominque is

excellent. The setting is very tranquill, the service

is wonderful. BTW he makes yummy ice cream!

Penny thanks for that info. I guess we will muddle along and find our way (our norm!).

I am torn between CC, Zurra, or an additional night at Veya, still haven't decided - it is a Saturday. I have all the other nights planned. Maybe we will just stay home and have Fat Cat!

Do all 3 -- we had a fabulous lunch at Zurra and it's really nice to look at the landscaping on the golf course. Those giant villas have been painted white so they're not the concrete eyesores that they were last year. The lunch menu is wonderful, the portions are enormous -- it's just a really nice place to sit & watch & eat & drink & sit & watch & . . . .

VOH m'love: Of the 3, my vote is for Zurra. You're already doing Veya. If you liked Altamer, I think you should like Zurra.
