They are spectacular!
Would have made for some interesting shots if that toy would have got wound around the power wires. I have to admit, I always have a tough time recognizing photos, took me a while. I had to confirm that it was the new Hampton hotel that I was seeing, though I did not recognize Switchback and the Best Western across the lawn.
Thanks for posting DezEdited: 4:06 pm, January 23, 2014
Dez, you are the king of finding cool youtube videos! Couldn't get the second one to work but I'll keep trying it. What's a quadcopter?
It never makes it inside the national park, right? Do you suppose it's illegal?
Can we get one of these for our meet-up?
Yes. What's a quadcopter? I see the shadow every know and again but that's all.
Its a mini helicopter that holds a Go Pro camera. I'm thinking of getting one, they get some interesting shots.
Not sure if its legal in the park(probably not). There is a video of one flying over the north rim lodge at the GC and someone posted a link to the GC NPS site about the legality of unmanned aircraft over the canyon.See the comments section below the video...
I thought that second video was in the park with that tell tale red road?
Finally got the 2nd video to work. Very cool! It looked like it was flying over the east mesa section of Zion, up near Checkerboard Mesa. The shadow of the quadcopter makes it look like a giant bug. lol!
Cool. 2nd video shows Many Pools at 1.00 min and 2.00 min IIRC
Way cool! Thanks for posting, dez. Yeah, you should get one of those and bring it to Green River!
I was also wondering about the legality of the gizmo. But more so about the noise and how annoying it might be for folks trying to enjoy some peace on the trails. Note: I have no idea if the quadcopter is load, but I know that most R/C aircraft are not exactly quiet.
