Coming to Shenandoah 3rd week of June

I would like to know if there are any hikes for beginners where water would be involved. I'm thinking it might be warm. Also, even thought we are coming back to New Jersey from Busch gardens we are going to stay at Skyland resort then back track so my older sun can hike rag mountain with an uncle. But, the rest of us need a little bit easier hike. Also, any events in the evening. We are going to do Luray caverns on the last day before heading home. Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

There are trails for all abilities in Shenandoah so it won't be a problem to find something you will enjoy. Here are a couple to consider with water but also stop in one of the Visitor Centers and ask the staff for suggestions. They are very helpful and will provide trail maps. Check out the most popular waterfall trail, Dark Hollow Falls, and Rose River. For the Rose River trail, do the shorter version, it's about 4 miles total. Here are maps and descriptions from the SNP site:

For a beautiful, easy trail but no water, hike Limberlost:

For day/evening activities, check out ranger lead programs, they are usually interesting and fun:

Hope this helps, enjoy Shenandoah.

How many miles do you want to do, and do you want a trail that is easy or moderate in difficulty?

Dark Hollow Falls is a good hike. Easier going down than coming up :-) But you will enjoy it.

The New Market Taproom at Big Meadow Lodge offers free nightly, family-friendly entertainment (usually musical). It's about a 10-mile drive there from Skyland.
