Rusty's Hard Time Holler on the Blue Ridge Parkway

Rusty's Hard Time Holler located at mile post 16.9 is a real treat. It is not for the neat freak, glamorous, picky tourist, but rather for the adventurer with a budget. For breakfast he prepares blue berry pancakes, he picks the berries himself, in a 22 inch cast iron skillet on a wood burning stove. The well house keeps cold drinks chilled by a spring in a pit in middle of the floor. He tells stories of the mountains and people who grew up there. Walking up to the Holler on a dirt road are amusing signs covering posts and trees along the way. It is an experience that you will never forget.
