Dining suggestion on route from Sequoia to Yosemite.

Each summer we end our Sequoia trip by eating at We Three Bakery in Three Rivers before heading back to Las Vegas. This summer we will be exiting in to Fresno as we have added a few days at Yosemite. So I am looking for a new breakfast/early lunch spot for us to stop at as we leave Sequoia. Suggestions?

Do you have particular preferences? I also don't know your schedule so it is hard to say where you would be along the route when you get hungry.

But I'll start a list off the top of my head and then it can be expanded.

Along Highway 180 between Grant Grove and Fresno:

The School House in Sanger (about 30 minutes after you leave Grant Grove) (closed Mon/Tues) - Literally an old brick country school next to the highway turned into a restaurant. Diners eat in the old auditorium. Across highway 180 from the School House is an artist cooperative's gallery while nearby are two good fruit stands and about 1/4 mile south on Frankwood is a nice little winery (a few of the wines like their Zin win top honors at California's largest competitions).

Chuck Wagon in Sanger - I know you said no fast food but the Chuck Wagon makes good chili dogs. One of Huell Howser's old featured California stops. It is about 2 miles south of highway 180 on Academy Avenue in Sanger.

In Fresno

Limon - (lunch every day but Mon) Peruvian food, run by a family that also has a San Francisco location. Both the rotisserie chicken and the ceviche are very good. Exit Highway 41 at Friant Road, go north about 1.5 miles.

Yosemite Falls Café - small local chain with coffee shop/comfort food type menu. Easiest location for your travel is the Blackstone location. Exit Highway 41 at Shaw Ave, go west 1/4 mile then turn north on Blackstone, it is a few hundred feet north of the intersection on the west side of the street.

Pismos Grill - popular local seafood place. Exit highway 41 at Friant Road, go southwest (left) about 1/2 mile to Nees Ave. Sits behind the California Pizza Kitchen along Nees.

North of Fresno on Highway 41

Chukchansi Gold Casino - This large complex provides several choices for lunch including a coffee shop, 50s themed diner, a buffet, etc.

Ducey's - (turn off Highway 41 north of Oakhurst then about 4 miles) On Bass Lake in The Pines Resort. We like driving up for the day and having lunch on their patio overlooking the lake. The casual grill area serves lunch.

Thanks Fresno, I posted in 2 forums because many who visit the Sequoia forum who have done the drive don't visit the Fresno forum.
