Lodging/Hiking Sept 2013 revised plan

Thank you for your advice to my previous post. Have decided to not go to Tahoe.

Current plan: fly into Fresno Sat Sept 22 and drive to Yosemite. Have not figured out where to stay this night and how to approach the park. As it will be later in the afternoon on a Saturday don't want to be stuck in traffic getting through the park. Want to spend Sunday in Tuolumne Meadows. Will have an early start as on East Coast time. Then have lodging at the Falls that night (not available Sat night). Hopefully Valley will be a little quieter for the evening. Will be up early Monday and plan all morning or more for Valley. Then want to stop at Glacier Point and then out south entrance. Do not think we will get to stop much after leaving Glacier Point, because staying in Grant Grove Cabin that night. Sunset will be by 7:30, hope to get there before dark.

Plan two nights in Grant Grove Cabin then two nights Wusakhi. Think this will give us some time to unwind. Then drive to Fresno late Friday night -can stay for free there with points and fy out Sat.

Please comment if plan sounds doable. The only thing could consider changing is adding a night at Yosemite Lodge if it became available and take away one night from Grant.

Sounds doable. I think you'll enjoy being able to connect with nature at Kings Canyon and in Sequoia, at that time of year. Quiet. Usually lots of wildlife. Still a few flowers (tiny alpine kinds) at higher elevations. Meadows not brown yet, but on their way out for the season. So many wonderful hikes and it is so quiet, especially as compared to hikes among Sequoias in Yosemite. Don't even bother to see the Mariposa Grove in Yosemite - enjoy Glacier Point and surroundings.
