Lodging/Itinerary Advice for 4 nights in July 2017

We are taking a month long road trip in July 2017 with 3 kids, ages 4, 8 and 10. We are doing a mix of camping and cabins/hotels. We are trying to figure out our lodging and itinerary for Washington and Olympic National Park and having a difficult time narrowing it down! Looking for advice on must do's and lodging or camping for the 3rd week of July 19-23. Current plan is to drive from Coeur d'Alene to Friday Harbor. We are meeting another family with kids whose parents live in Friday Harbor and plan to camp for 2 nights on their property, having 1 full day on the Island. Our plan was to then travel to somewhere near/in ONP to see sights there for 2 nights. We've found some cabin rentals in Fork and Lake Sutherland, but it's difficult to find a cabin for just 2 nights. We are also open to camping in ONP. Or possibly skipping ONP all together and just exploring another island? Although we would really love to see ONP. Or Victoria Island could be an option? We could also skip Friday Harbor and stay 4 nights somewhere else. After Washington we plan to drive to Oregon Coast, Depoe Bay on July 23.

If it helps, other stops on our trip are SLC, Grand Teton NP, Yellowstone NP, and Glacier NP. We live in Southern CA.

Thanks for any advice!

I can find you a place for two nights in the Forks area, but I need exact dates to look at availability. Is the other family traveling to Olympic with you.mif so how many? You of course need to decide if Olympic is worth it for two nights. That does for sure limit what you can see and do! It is not scenic drives for the most part. I am confused as to your itinerary. With so little time in Olympicmif you are going from Olympic to the Oregon Coast than you have to keep in mind the long drive you will have from any point in Olympic. The further you get South and the closer you get to aotel on the better, but then that means you have a longer journey from the Islands to any given point in Olympic. It is Vancouver Island and quite frankly that IMO makes your itinerary even more complicated.
