Looking to head east from Whidbey Island Sunday morning (9/12) to drive the North Cascade Loop. Current plans have us staying in Winthrop Sunday night, in the Leavenworth area Monday night (tried to somehow squeeze in the Chelan-Stehekin trek, even as a day trip, but it just didn't seem do-able time-wise), then back to the Seattle area Tuesday night (leaving for home early Wed morn). Any comments? Have I spaced the trek out well enough to where we're not feeling too rushed? Will possibly do Omhe Gardens in Wenatchee, see Snoqualmie Falls late Tuesday. Other than that, any suggestions on the best scenic stops and/or short easy-to-moderate hikes along each section of the loop?
