Top 3 Day Hikes

Going to JTNP for a yoga festival in April, but will be spending 3 days hiking first. What are the best day hikes in the park? Any tips for a first timer in the desert? I've done research online.

Boy Scout trail is 8 miles, but unless you have two cars, you will need to return the way you came, turning it into a 16 mile round trip.

Lost Horse mine is a nice hike. Its 4 miles r/t.

I really like Ryan Mountain for the views. Its 3 miles r/t.

Lost Palm Oasis is about 7 miles r/t but you can include Mastodon Peak with that. Mastodon Peak has a nice view of the Salton Sea.If you just go to Mastedon, its 3 miles r/t.

Wall Street Mill is a nice ,flat ,sandy trail that has a lot of historical stuff to see, like the cabin ruins, old truck, windmill, and finally ending at the mill.

Here are pics of most of those hikes.

Bring lots of water and food with you, there are no concessions in the park.Don't expect cell service in the park.

Another thing you could do is spend a day hiking near Palm Springs at the Indian Canyons. Lots of palm groves and flowing streams. Murray Canyon to the waterfalls is my favorite trail.Lots of snow is melting right now, so the water levels are up.

Pictures.
