South Rim visit around Christmas

Assuming weather is cooperative, how much time should a family of 5 (3 teens) consider for GCNP? I could see a hike but not sure what else we can do at this time of year. Also considering staying south in Sedona area and doing a day trip. Realistic? thanks

A day trip from Sedona is doable. You'll have a better GC experience though if you can book a room inside the park and stay overnight.

Yes, stay overnight for at least one night. Make a reservation at www.grandcanyonlodges.com

Definitely stay a night at one of the in-park lodges if there is any vacancy.
