canyon visits

We have 10 days and nights to visit Zion National Park, Bryce Canyon and the Grand Canyon in late December. We are not avid hikers but will walk in certain areas. Is this much too much time to spend there ? Do you have other suggestions as to where we can go before returning to catch our flight in Las Vegas?

No hiking is needed. Walking, yes. I would consider 2 nights Zion, 1 night Bryce, 2 nights Page, 2 nights GCNP and 3 nights Sedona.

Tusayan: hotels in the village just outside the park (use travel site or TA)

nps.gov/grca/ park website for park information

Park lodges book up to a year in advance. Sometimes cancellations happen in park lodging and don't appear quickly on the website. If no availability on the website, call often and ask about availability. The park no longer produces a newsletter. Information about programs, shuttles, overlooks, etc. can be found on the park website. GCNP South Rim is very self-touring.

During that time of year Bryce in particular would be a challenge with the ice/snow due to the elevation. That may or may not an issue but weather will play a big factor due to elevation of Bryce and GCNP.

Thank you so much for the info - have not yet looked into Page, but have for the rest. Many thanks.

You didn't say, but what kind of things do you like to see and/or do? For me, Sedona was too touristy and commercial.

Sedona is the most scenic and relaxing destination in the region. Give it 3 nights in your plan. Stay away from Uptown to avoid crowds of tourists.
