Going to the Sun Road - driving conditions

I have a new Porsche and will be driving there August 7, 2010. How are the roads regarding tar and rock chips, holes in the road, on "Going to the Sun" road? I do not wish to get chipped paint , etc;

GTTS road won't be your only worry.

Most people here have what's referred to as a "MT windshield" - the chips/cracks are a matter of degree, not probability.

You might want to consider driving a different vehicle......

We just got home yesterday, GTTS road was in pretty good shape. Construction was taking place on both sides of Logan Pass. There was a section of the road that was completly gravel, but they do a good job keeping it wet to prevent dust and junk flying around. The day we did our Red Bus tour the driver complained about the water trucks, saying it was impossible to get the splashed stuff off the side of the bus.
