We will be visiting the southern parks for nine days in early April. We are flying to SLC and driving to Moab to stay for three nights, then driving from Moab to Bryce via 24 and 12, stopping at Capitol Reef, would like to arrive at Bryce by 6 at the latest to be there for sunset (at 8:00). If we get an early start (by 7am) I'm wondering if a stop at Goblin Valley is worth it, or if we should just go on to Capitol Reef. Would like to drive the scenic road in Capitol Reef, stop at Fruita, and have time for one short hike. Is Hickman Bride trail still closed? Any suggestions on best hike if we can only do one? Once we leave Capitol Reef we want to take our time on the drive to Bryce, allowing maybe 4 hours. I realize we will be missing lots of great diversions in this area, but we only have one night in Bryce, will drive the park road in Bryce the next day and move on to Zion for four nights. We wanted plenty of time in Zion. Any help would be appreciated!
