We are planning a short boat trip when visiting Acadia beginning of September.
Confused because there seem to be so many options -
Interested in seeing the iconic craggy coastline and nice scenery that may not be visible from roadside or hikes -
1. Should we take a trip from NE harbor or bar harbor? Looking at the map, it appears that bar harbor boat trip to somes sound will cover acadia np coastline as well a somes sound but on calling them, found that it does not pass near the coastline.
2. the lighthouse tour does not seem to visit the lighthouses just go by the islands - would it still be a memorable experience?
3. are there any good boat tours that may not have been reviewed on TA?
4. how scenic are the various ferry options to the islands - cranberry or baker etc?
