which side of tobago to stay on?

Is the Atlantic side of the island rough as it is in Barbados? Are all beaches created equal? Is there one area that has the best beaches, snorkeling, lowest waves?

Do you mean the island of Tobago? Best to post on the Trinidad & Tobago forum. Most beaches on the Atlantic side of the islands can experience rough seas from time to time and it depends on the overall weather patterns and time of year. Seaweed and sand can be churned up if it's stormy.

Tobago in Tobago Cays is not the Tobago in Trinidad and Tobago, with the exception that they are both in the same general area of the southern Caribbean. So your question may be of little relevance in this forum.

No idea the origin of the word Tobago but would like to find out.

Atlantic side rough. Other side less rough. Simple.

Don't know about Tobago, but in Grenada, I learned the word 'tabanca' which I was told means the sorrow caused by lost love.
